The main goal of the 13th Symposium in Graz is to stimulate an intense, informed discussion about research and development of the engine working process. The conference will deal with current problems representing all applications for internal combustion engines: from small high-performance engines for two-wheelers and sports equipment, to passenger car and heavy-duty vehicle propulsion systems, to large engines. As in previous years a parallel session will be devoted to large engines.
The progress that has been made since the beginning of this conference series 24 years ago is remarkable. It gives reason to expect that the strictest future requirements – set for reasons of environmental sustainability and efficiency – will be able to be met. Concepts already in use must be continually improved and new concepts must be developed, for example those making use of electrification, alternative fuels and improved simulation and development methods.
You are cordially invited to attend this meeting of experts to become better acquainted with the current state of research and development in the area of the working process of the internal combustion engine. I am looking forward to seeing you there!
